At a time when even entire classic rock bands are being AI generated, Holy Fuck are now more relevant than ever. The Canadian quartet have forged their reputation for making electronic music with a human touch. While many artists create that core electronic via laptops, loops and drum machines, Holy Fuck keep every element as live as possible. The intoxication they inspire comes not from cold, staid perfection, but from the ragged energy that comes from four musicians relishing sharing a moment. Factor in the chaos born from improvisation and skipping a click track in favour
of loose, raw, real percussion, and it’s easy to see why Holy Fuck are renowned for their pulsating, unorthodox thrills. As the passage of time marches to its own relentless beat, it’s almost frightening to note that it has been six years since their previous set, 2020’s ‘Deleter’.
Hitting play on their new album ‘Event Beat’ (2026) reveals that Holy Fuck totally circumvented that idea, as opening track ‘Evie’ swirls between pulsating bass, punk-funk grooves and luminous synth flourishes to offer an hypnotic calling card for the rest of the album.

RATTLE is an ongoing musical project concerned with experiments in rhythm, metre and tension. Katharine Eira Brown & Theresa Wrigley make up the Nottingham duo who with just drums and occasional vocalisations weave an expanse of percussive vortices. Their songs swirl and envelop with all the physicality and drama of another world pulling together around its own shifting centre of gravity. The drum beats phase and sidestep, they trade accents and overlap, providing a suitably alive terrain for the vocals to explore similar tendencies of pattern. Rattle's debut album was released in 2016 through Upset The Rhythm / I Own You and was greeted with much critical praise, this often singled out their hypnotic minimalism and ecstatic regard for the dance floor. The following six months saw Rattle support Animal Collective on their UK tour before heading out around Europe with The Julie Ruin. Rattle have also toured with Protomartyr and played concerts with Bill Orcutt, Hot Snakes, Thurston Moore and Codeine.
